Annualcreditreport.com Review & Tips

So I was wondering what my credit score was. I haven’t checked it since I bought my apartment and besides my wife screaming at me to pay the bills in time I think I did quite ok. But do I really know?

Anyways….so as everyone knows there are different major vendors out there: Freecreditscore.com, Experian, Transunion and a bunch of others. They all run their own paying sites even that trials are usually free.
Annualcreditreport.com

I’ve read that Annualcreditreport.com ist the only official federally-mandated website that’s run by the three major credit associations. Annualcreditreport.com is therefore not a scam, BUT you have to carefully navigate through the site or you’ll get transferred over to the paying sites of the top 3 credit score vendors: eg. the image below is and ad and it will transfer you over to the paying site (!)

Let me say that again:….Annualcreditreport.com doesn’t provide you with a credit score (which is something you might want to get for a loan). But if you just check for your own interest…there is no reason to pay!

Here’s what you get with Annualcreditreport.com:

1. Account information of the last 48months for several of your accounts:

which is based on the following:

And companies that checked your score e.g. American Express and other credit card companies, banks & mobile companies, which you were dealing with.
Hope that helps a bit!
